Thinkvirtual LLC Raises $225,000 in Series A Equity

Develops Virtual Expo Events Targeting Consumer Product Companies, Retailers and Consumers

September 17, 2013 - Austin, Texas

Thinkvirtual LLC has raised $225,000 of a planned $500,000 in series A capital with participation from a prominent early-stage angel investor.  Thinkvirtual, founded in 2010, develops virtual expos creating a marketplace and community for consumer product companies, retailers and consumers to interact globally.  In stark contrast to traditional trade shows, thinkvirtual’s events will occur exclusively online and have a zero carbon footprint.  In 2014, the company will expand on its initial event, “Bambino2Kiddo” – a virtual expo focused on the baby and child consumer product segment, held last summer.  Plans will also include full-scale, virtual expos in the sporting goods and outdoor products with “NatOut”, and pet product segment with “Pet4Life”.  Thinkvirtual will enable consumer product companies, retailers and consumers to interact in a digitally simulated expo environment.  Retailers and consumers will have the opportunity to participate in a wide range of activities including engaging speaker series and interactive exhibitor booths with hundreds of consumer product experts via video and text chat.

Thinkvirtual is the first spinoff from thinkoperations LLC.  After launching its safe product consumer brands - thinkbaby and thinksport in 2006, think operations found itself participating regularly in trade shows and events across the United States. As the company expanded its footprint to over 4,000 retail locations, the real costs of traditional trade show attendance were rapidly becoming apparent. Not only were the shows expensive to attend, but attendance was falling off across almost all industries, calling the investment into question without providing a reasonable alternative.

Founder & CEO, Kevin Brodwick and his partners at thinkbaby and thinksport noticed that they weren’t alone. After participating in tons of traditional trade shows across the US, the one thing that was consistent we experienced firsthand the frustration building with exhibitors and attendees in relation to the time commitment, costs and resources of traditional trade shows versus the benefits derived.

So thinkoperations began to examine the benefits and functions of the industry and consumer trade show with a simple question: “Is there a better way?” They were seeking a means for vendors, retailers, and consumers to come together to explore new product information and engage with each other.

Thinkvirtual has tapped Jared Benson, former Vice President at Grande Communications, to assemble a sales and support team over the next two months.
