Innovative iPhone App "Preserves Memories"

CENTRAL DISTRICT, Hong Kong - Sept. 10, 2013 - PRLog -- One of the most poignant TV stories last year showed an old weeping woman clutching a soggy photo of her late husband - the only and her most precious possession she had salvaged from her tornado-wrecked house.

Most of us have old photos of great sentimental value that we would like to scan for preservation, portability or sharing, but never do because using scanners and cropping software is tedious and technically challenging.

Now there is an app for it. Pic Scanner for iPhone and iPad lets users scan up to three 4x6 inch photos simultaneously; then detects, crops and saves them automatically. This unique "multi-scan, auto-crop" feature makes it very fast and easy to preserve and share old memories. Users can also edit, add captions, create albums, and share their photos via Facebook, Twitter and email.

This free version allows unlimited scanning and cropping, plus one-time sharing. Once users have tried the app, they can make a $2.99 in-app purchase to get unlimited sharing privileges. A new, iOS7 compliant version of Pic Scanner will be launched next week. New features include Dropbox integration, an image sharpening tool, and a new-look in-app '5-Minute Guide'. Users will also be allowed to save or share three batches of photos before needing to make the in-app purchase.

Pic Scanner is the debut app from Hong Kong-based start-up App Inito Limited (http://www.appinitio.com/picscanner). It was downloaded in more than 50 countries within 24 hours of its launch in late June 2013.
