Kleinfelder Announces New Leadership for its Pavement Engineering Practice

DENVER - Aug. 27, 2013 - PRLog -- DENVER, Colorado –Kleinfelder (http://www.kleinfelder.com/)--a global architecture, engineering, and science consulting firm--announced that Scott Sounart, a 21-year veteran, has been chosen to lead the company’s pavement engineering technical practice group. Since joining Kleinfelder in 2005, Sounart has been an integral leader in its pavement engineering practice–a key service line for the company.

Kleinfelder has offered pavement engineering services for nearly 30 years, and has expertise across the entire pavement spectrum--including subgrade soil investigation, pavement design and construction, materials testing and forensics, and pavement preservation and rehabilitation.  In his new role, Sounart will continue to drive Kleinfelder’s position as industry leaders by continuing to advance the company’s technical capabilities and quality.

Sounart is a graduate of the University of Colorado at Denver with a Bachelors of Science in engineering.  He is currently a member of the Association of Asphalt Paving Technologists, American Consulting Engineers Council, Metropolitan Governments Pavement Engineers Council, and American Society of Civil Engineers. Additionally, Sounart is a frequent instructor for the Colorado Asphalt Pavement Association (http://www.co-asphalt.com/), where he teaches courses on hot mix asphalt technology. In August 2006, he was appointed to the Board of Directors for the Laboratory for the Certification of Asphalt Technicians (LabCAT).
