COLUMBUS, Ohio - Aug. 6, 2013 - PRLog -- Originally from Cumberland, Ohio, I graduated from Cedarville University with a degree in Elementary Education. I taught several years in Miami, FL (Kindergarten, Fourth grade, and Fifth grade – Kindergarten being my favorite age to teach). Eventually, I moved back to Ohio where I met my husband Mark. For us, having a baby was not an easy endeavor it took 7 years that required many medical procedures. After I had our daughter Karrington, I decided to open a child care facility in my home so I could still earn money and still have my baby with me. Karrington is almost eleven and I am still enjoying working in child care. My goal for the children in my care was the same as it was for my daughter, provide a fun, safe environment to promote good moral values and teach respect for others.

My Mission

*To provide child care that feels like an extension of a child’s home.
*To promote good moral values and teach respect for others.
*To develop a love for learning through themes, songs, crafts, role play and independent play.
*To develop critical thinking, problem solving, and developing good communication skills.
*To develop good work and play skills both independently and cooperatively.
*To be a model for having structure in my home with some flexibility.

Curriculum

I have and continue to develop my own curriculum that is developmentally appropriate for each level of child that is in my care. My educational program includes many fun activities such as finger plays, storytelling, drama, cooking, crafts, and music. I also realize for young children that much time needs to be set aside for free play both inside and outside – much learning is accomplished in this way. I consider our “schedule” structured with flexibility to care and meet the needs of the infants as well as the older children.

Meals

Infant’s formula is provided by the parent. If and when a child is eating baby cereal, the parent provides.
Children that are eating baby food only, the parent provides the baby food.
For those children that eat table food and older children; I provide a healthy lunch, which includes: an entrée, vegetable, fruit, milk and treat (i.e. yogurt, jell-o, granola bar, and an occasional sweet treat). A healthy snack is served around 3:00 p.m.

Tuition

My “tuition” is as follows:
*Full-time Enrollment = $115.00 per week (no more than 10 hours each day, if you exceed more than 10 hours you will be charged an extra $3 per ½ hour you exceed 10 hours). My definition of a week is a Monday through Friday (5 days)
*Part time Enrollment = $30 dollars per day (4 or less days)
*Half days = $20 (a half day is 5 hours or less)
*You are not required to pay me for my sick days, my days off for personal time, or my one week of vacation.

Hours of Operation

7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. (early/extended hours are available, if arranged in advanced and approved for an additional fee of $10 per hour above a regular day’s tuition).
