Publications of the Diversity News Publications Family of Companies announced that Actor, television and red carpet host Joey Valdez Returns to Host for Diversity News TV at the 2013 EOTM Awards.
The 2013 EOTM Awards red carpet and ceremony will be held on Sunday, August 4, 2013 at the Pacific Design Center 8687 Melrose Ave West Hollywood, CA 90069 from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
Joey Valdez will be working with Celebrity photographer and videographer Francois Palais along with Celebrity and professional photographer Alireza Kia. About Joey Valdez: He started his acting career at the age of 3. His first play was in Kindergarten at Smythe Elementary School in San Ysidro CA. He played Joseph, Mary’s husband in a Christmas play. At the age of 13 he started his formal acting training at “Casa De La Cultura”
in Tijuana Mexico with Enrique Nolasco, Drama teacher. His first major production was in a play called “Llano En Llamas”
. He also worked in a middle school short film entitled Our Version of “Animal House”
at San Ysidro Middle School. At the age of 15 he was introduced to high school drama. He was taught by Marilyn Lambert at Mar Vista High School in Imperial Beach CA. His first on camera experience was for his first High School production of “A Girl In The Mirror”
. The cast was interviewed for a show called “Sun Up San Diego”
hosted by Joey Bishop. For which he also received a best supporting actor award. He was also trained at Southwestern College in San Diego, CA. He was inspired to perform by watching his cousins “Los Old Memories”
perform growing up. They were a well-known musical group in Mexico. Also watching his father perform as a stage actor at “Casa De La Cultura”
in Mexico. He resumed his career in 2009 in a guest starring role in an Alex Cox film called “Repo Chick”

and a short film in San Diego called “The Stuff”

Joey Valdez also took part in recording the first Michael Jackson Tribute Song, “Gift To The World”
, produced by Barry White's pianist/songwriter. Currently he am best known for working as a celebrity host for Ed Magik TV. Ed Magik TV produced the show “Vayaconmigo” Hosted by Joey Valdez which aired on Berea Vision 31.6, Los Angeles, CA. Joey was cast lead in the film ‘Tacos For Lunch’
. In which he plays an undocumented day laborer. The character he portrays ‘Emilio’: a hard working Christian. Who works to support his family in Mexico. He is a man with old fashion values. He would rather work hard to earn his living, rather than to compromise his values and integrity. This film was directed by Chandan Gupta.
