About the Author: Born in England, Gary Botting is the author of more than 30 books. As a teenager, he won top honours at the U.S. National Science Fair and travelled around the world with his exhibit on the hybridization of giant silk moths. He began writing at age 18 as a journalist for the South China Morning Post in Hong Kong. Returning to Canada, he became a playwright, following in the footsteps of his mentor, Robertson Davies. He holds nine degrees, including two Ph.D.s (in English literature and law) and an MFA in playwriting. Formerly a professor of English and creative writing at several Canadian universities, and more recently a postdoctoral fellow at the University of Washington School of Law in Seattle, he currently practices extradition law in Vancouver, British Columbia.
