US Nevada to Prohibit BPA in a List of Children’s Products

GENEVA - July 10, 2013 - PRLog -- On 28 May 2013, the Governor of the US state of Nevada signed Assembly Bill (AB) 354 into law to prohibit BPA in:

- Food contact bottles or cups for children under the age of 4
- Containers containing baby food that is commercially available for children under the age of 4
- Containers containing infant formula

The effective date is dependent on the nature of the product and starts on 1 January 2014 (1).

Nevada is now the 13th state in the US to institute some form of ban on BPA in consumer products, joining California, Connecticut, Delaware, Illinois, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Minnesota, Multnomah County (Oregon), New York, Vermont, Washington DC and Wisconsin(2).
