ANTARIS SOLAR launches new version of off-grid solar PV system, eKiss 4

SLOUGH, U.K. - July 2, 2013 - PRLog -- ANTARIS SOLAR, a leading provider of solar technology, has launched a new version of its standalone, off-grid solar PV system, eKiss 4. The new model benefits from increased inverter load and informative panel display and comes with AC grid connection switch over.

With eKiss, ANTARIS SOLAR has introduced a modular and “out of the box” solar battery system to be used in off- grid-settings to supply AC power to household or business appliances in sheds, barns, stables, outbuildings as well as in less developed regions all over the world. The eKiss type 4 has the following new features:

• Inverter load has been increased from a maximum continuous rating of 2,000 W to 2,400 W.

• The new front panel display shows comprehensive data and system information including input/output voltage, battery and PV voltage, load percentage and charging current.

• The new eKiss 4 comes with AC grid connection switch over and can be deployed in connection to the grid. It can supply electrical devices with solar energy – coming either directly from the solar panels or from the batteries – and automatically switches to the mains supply if required, e.g. if not  enough solar energy is available from the panels and batteries are empty. Grid connection switch over also works the other way round, so that eKiss can be used as a back-up system that replaces mains supply with solar energy if grid power goes off temporarily.

eKiss (short for “energy – Keep it simple and safe”) is a plug and play system. Each eKiss system consists of three components: The eKiss controller box, containing the inverters that convert the electricity from direct current (DC) to alternating current (AC); the polycrystalline ANTARIS SOLAR PV modules; and batteries to store the solar energy. Being a modular system, eKiss can be configured to fit individual needs. Depending on the required size, the new eKiss 4 system has between six and sixteen maintenance-free AGM batteries (75 Ah) and can be connected to between three and 15 solar panels.

eKiss is assembled in Germany and is designed to be robust and long lasting. Quality testing for eKiss has been carried out by the German TEC Institute for Technical Innovation (www.tec-institut.de/en).

Prices for the new eKiss type 4 range from £2999 for the system with 3 solar PV modules and 6 batteries, to £5999 for the system with 15 solar PV modules and 16 batteries.
