When the visitor leaves your site and goes to advertising platforms that are part of the 'retargeting network' your ad appears on their screen. Through Retargeting networks you get to determine how many times each day the ad (banner) will appear on their computers. The theory is that visitors will click on your banner and convert. Since visitors had shown an initial interest in your offer (which is why they were at your site) they are more prone to make a purchase. Or so the theory goes.
