The Taming of the Screw - Newly Patented Screw/Screwdriver Could Up-end Industry

The newly patented JacLock Screw and JacLock Screwdriver System could up-end industry. Builder/Inventor Bernard Jacovitz of Earthquake Resistant Building Construction, Inc. just received another industry disruptive patent.

DELRAY BEACH, Fla. - June 24, 2013 - PRLog -- NEW YORK, NY –  Bernard Jacovitz, President of Earthquake Resistant Building Construction, Inc. (ERBC, Inc.) a Delray Beach, FL product/concept design company was just approved for his third major patent.  Jacovitz, a homebuilder by trade with degrees in Architectural Design and Industrial Design, just patented the JacLockScrew and JacLockScrewdriver locking system.  The system, unlike existing screw and screwdrivers, avoids the possibility of the screwdriver slipping off the screw during insertion and/or removal of the screw.  The patented JacLock™ system design not only removes the possibility of a screwdriver slipping off the screw head, but will prevent the damaging stripping of the screw head.  This system also increases the overall torque created when inserting and removing the screw, reducing or eliminating the strain and stress associated with the activity.

The new design will appeal to both manufacturers and consumers alike.  Manufacturers will quickly see the advantages of using the new system, since the assembly of products with the new screw/ screwdriver locking system will improve efficiency and costs.  Consumers will also find the new system a tremendous improvement over existing screw and screwdrivers.  In addition to the easier physical process, they will no longer be faced with the possibility of stripping a screw head while inserting or removing a screw.

Unlike a prior patented design by Jacovitz in the early 1980’s, the new JacLock™ Screw and Screwdriver locking system does not result in any increase in the cost of the production of the screw.  The new patent requires only one die cut during the production process of the screw rather than two die cuts required by his earlier patent.  According to Mr. Jacovitz,

“My new JacLockScrew and JacLockScrewdriver System will change the use of screws and screwdrivers by manufacturers and consumers throughout the world.  No longer will you have to worry about slipping off of a screw while inserting or removing it.  Everyone who has ever used a screw and screwdriver, whether it was manual or electric, has faced the problem of slippage at some point.

Earthquake Resistant Building Construction, Inc., (http://www.erbc-inc.com) the owner of Mr. Jacovitz’s revolutionary patented JacBlox™ Construction Framing System, designed to make homes safer from earthquakes and hurricanes, is currently seeking manufacturers or investors to help get its newly patented JacLock™ Screw and JacLock™ Screwdriver system ready for production and into the world marketplace.
