Hijackers Interrupted DNS Of Linkedin

TIRUPUR, India - June 21, 2013 - PRLog -- Linkedin tweeted that their site is hijacked by some people on their DNS side and they are working on it to fix the issue. Though there were some members still using the site without any issue. According to the website that monitors the status of the websites told that the slow down process began around 6 PM PST on Wednesday this week. Within a short period of time Bryan Berg, the cofounder of App.net wrote about this issue on his blog that the DNS of the site have been hijacked. In another way he says it as the domain name of Linkedin was redirected to a different IP address and its traffic was re routed to a network hosted by confluence-networks website.

The site has phone numbers displaying for both US and India.  A spokesperson contacted to confluence-networks number belongs to India and told that they are investigating the issue and the reason for the name servers of Fidelity and Linkedin have been redirected to their website. This is a serious issue that the site does not require SSL. This means that if we visit the site for the last few hours our web browser will send us the long lived session cookies in plain text. This leads to an insecure way of accessing our account that the third party can use our information of our account.
