CHICAGO - June 20, 2013 - PRLog -- Chicago, Illinois – Chicago-based crowdfynd, an innovative start-up that brings Lost & Found into the technology age by offering a socially charged online platform and mobile app, will be a featured participant in two top tech events next week. On June 25th, crowdfynd will be one of five start-ups to pitch their idea onstage in front of over 500 industry insiders at the Technori Pitch event at Chase Auditorium. Later in the week, crowdfynd competes as one of 70 hand-picked start-ups at the TechWeek LAUNCH competition, the ultimate winner coming away with$100,000 in cash and prizes. The LAUNCH event will take place on Friday, June 28th at the Merchandise Mart and is renowned as a top proving ground for new tech companies in the Windy City.

Being invited to both events is a testament to the meteoric rise of crowdfynd since their public launch in mid-April. Co-founders Jay Sebben and Pinaki Saha are embracing this exciting opportunity and count themselves among startups aiming to solve societal problems. crowdfynd is a free mobile and web-based application that uses crowdsourced information to rethink Lost & Found. Currently available in the iTunes store, crowdfynd is a simple and effective tool for anyone with internet access or a smartphone. Users can create and share posts to raise awareness of a lost or found item within 15 seconds. Using tools such as geo-tagged maps, photo sharing, direct messaging and monetary rewards, users have a quick and convenient way to share information with their neighbors and community members.

“We’ve all seen lost dog fliers around town, but our goal is to give people a chance to share information through a technology they actually use: their smartphones,” says Jay Sebben, Co-Founder and CEO of crowdfynd. “We are taking those posters and bringing them into the 21st Century.”
