June 3, 2013 - PRLog -- Just in time for blooming wildflowers and snowmelt, Tripleblaze.com has officially released its list of the best hiking trails in Colorado. Nine of the top 10 hiking trails in Colorado are also among the 100 most popular trails in the nation.  Tripleblaze compiles the best hiking trails list based on visitors' ratings and reviews that have been collected continuously since 2005.

Colorado Springs and nearby Manitou Springs dominated the list with six of the top ten trails due in part to their proximity to Garden of the Gods and Pikes Peak.  Garden of the Gods was this year's top-rated hiking destination and one of the top 10 in the US overall.  According to hiker Lynn Lickers, "The red rock formations at Garden of the Gods surround you on easy walking trails, some of which are wheel chair accessible."

Climbing Colorado 14ers has become a popular pastime in the state and the trail to the top of Pike's Peak, the Barr Trail, ranked #3 on the top 10 list.  This trail is not only popular with hikers but also hosts the Pikes Peak Ascent and Marathon for runners each summer.

The trails on this list represent the Front Range of Colorado and all showcase views of the Rocky Mountains, high mountain meadows, and Colorado's gorgeous red rock formations.
