ICAP Leopard Breaks JP Morgan Round The Island Race Record

SOUTHAMPTON, U.K. - June 3, 2013 - PRLog -- Round The Island Race, June 1 - Cowes, Isle of Wight

Mike Slade's Maxi ICAP Leopard crossed the finish line in the 2013 JP Morgan Round the Island Race in an elapsed time of 3 hours 43 minutes and 50 seconds, which is 9 minutes and 45 seconds inside ICAP Leopard's own race record set back in 2008.

"This is marvellous, what a fantastic run" smiled Mike Slade as ICAP Leopard crossed the finish line at 14 knots. The crew have been outstanding and on more than one occasion we needed to catch up on the record pace. After 5 years of trying we have finally succeeded in bettering our own record and I have to say that I am as excited today as I was when we first broke the record all those years ago."

Mike Slade has held the Round The Island Race record for 23 years eclipsing the elapsed time on 5 separate occasions.
