PRLog -- Viewpoint Laboratories' new product offering enables convenient capture of fluorescent images of small objects with virtually any smartphone. The Viewpoint Studio nUV includes two high power near-ultraviolet LED spotlight lamps and a universal smartphone mounting system (which also works with the 5th gen iPod touch® and similar devices). "This product works great for fluorescent mineral photography, photodocumentation of articles with fluorescent security features (driver's licenses, passports, visa stamps, credit cards, etc.), certain experimental samples used in biology research, and just about any item that glows under a black light, with no special apps required," said a spokesperson for the company. "Furthermore, because this product runs on 12 volts DC, in addition to the 12 volt wall adapter supply that comes standard with the product there are more power supply options, such as vehicle cigarette lighter adapters and high capacity rechargeable batteries, for fieldwork that would otherwise be difficult for conventional systems based on black light tubes that rely on AC power."
