Swansea's new Roller Skating event

SWANSEA, Wales - May 8, 2013 - PRLog -- Summer Roller is part of the Swansea Bay Festival being organised by Swansea Council.

Disco tracks will be pumping out in the background and will add to the nostalgic feel of the event when participants take to the rink.

A beach area will also be set up, complete with buckets, spades, deck chairs and picnic tables.

Cllr Nick Bradley, Swansea Council’s Cabinet Member for Regeneration, said: “This is a fantastic idea that will replicate the fun and feel of Waterfront Winterland at the same location in the summer months. The Summer Roller will be great fun for children and for anyone looking to roll back the years and recapture their youth.

“But events like these are also important for local traders because they attract thousands of people into the city centre and Maritime Quarter.

“This is just one of many forthcoming events over the summer months forming part of the Swansea Bay Festival. The variety of what’s being planned means there’ll be something to cater for all ages and interests.”

A funfair will also be set up at Summer Roller as well as children’s entertainment, food and drink.

Summer Roller will be open from 10am to 9pm every day while the event is on.
