Columbia Maryland Dentist Office Kicks Off Fundraiser for Maryland's Camp Friendship

COLUMBIA, Md. - May 6, 2013 - PRLog -- Smile Savers Dentistry in Columbia, Maryland is again collecting donations to help send some deserving kids stricken with cancer to Camp Friendship in Maryland this summer. Campe Friendship, the premier program of the Carol Jean Cancer Foundation, Inc., is a special, week-long residential camp in August for children with cancer; offered free of charge, that is designed especially with their needs in mind. However, running the camp is not free, so once again Dr. Daniel Stewart and his staff at Smile Savers Dentistry would like to help raise money to send some deserving children to camp, hopefully with some help from their dental patients.

The cost per camper this year is $550. Smile Savers Dentistry will be collecting donations from staff, patients and area businesses through June in the hopes that they can send at least a few kids to Camp Friendship this summer. The Columbia dental practice kicked off their fundraiser a few weeks ago and have already raised enough money to send one child so far. "We have been active in supporting the Carol Jean Cancer Foundation and are happy to help get the word out about this fantastic camp, and to raise money for some of these kids to get the chance to go to camp and feel normal for a week this summer," said Dr. Daniel Stewart. Dr. Stewart's mom has even jumped in to help. Mrs. Stewart has donated quilts that she knitted to those who donate $140 or more.

Patients, friends and family are encouraged to make a donation, big or small, by coming into the dentist office or by mailing a check made out to Camp Friendship to Smile Savers Dentistry, 9170 Route 108, Suite 200, Columbia, MD 21045.
