Win The Diet War, a podcast available for subscription in iTunes under the Health/Self Help category, has a series of informative podcasts. The show is geared towards listeners who are fed up with dieting and seek a new approach to losing weight.

LOS ANGELES - May 6, 2013 - PRLog -- If you think you need willpower to lose weight, think again!  According to Win The Diet War host Dr. Nina Savelle-Rocklin, Psy.D., most people don’t binge or compulsively overeat because they lack willpower.   They may think they are addicted to carbs or sugar or they have a food problem, but that is not the case.  Dr. Nina says, “Nobody has an eating problem.  They have a problem coping with feelings, a problem dealing with anger or disappointment, or comforting themselves.  Eating is actually a solution to these problems.”

According to Dr. Nina, overeating is a way of coping with difficult feelings or conflicts.  The podcast series is designed to help listeners identify and then process the underlying issues that lead to bingeing or compulsive eating.

In a recent episode, titled “Stay Out Of Your Head (And The Fridge)” she challenges the notion that people can change their food behaviors through logic.   Dr. Nina advises listeners that feelings need their attention, not condemnation.  She highlights common ways that people try to think away their feelings and gives alternate solutions to these dilemmas.

She says, “When you think less and feel more, you’re not as likely to turn to food to make yourself feel better. When you get out of your head, you’ll stay out of the fridge.”
