CONNOLLY, Ireland - April 27, 2013 - PRLog -- Tom Enright, Director of Planning and Economic Development, will give a presentation entitled 'Limerick 2030: An economic Strategy and Spatial Plan for Limerick', which will focus on the main recommendations of ‘Limerick 2030’ for Limerick with specific reference to the city centre.

According to Sarah McCutcheon, Executive Archaeologist at Limerick County Council: “Limerick 2030 is a ‘once in a generation strategy’ to guide the economic, social and physical renaissance of the city and wider county/city region. It will guide the activities of the new Limerick Local Authority and its partners in delivering this renaissance. The strategy is by design a flexible, dynamic framework capable of responding to changing circumstances and providing, perhaps for the first time a holistic perspective on Limerick’s future.”

Commenting on the lecture series, which has also featured events on the built heritage of the University of Limerick campus and the Archaeology of mills and milling in County Limerick, Ms. McCutcheon said: “The purpose of the lecture series has been to promote the opinion that the built landscape of Limerick is the result of what our ancestors created and deemed important. What we design, build and preserve today will become Limerick in the future.”
