Follow on Google News | KAI Texas Welcomes Derwin Broughton to Design Team as Project ArchitectKAI Texas recently added award-winning architect and industry leader Derwin Broughton, AIA, to their team of project designers in an effort to elevate the field of architecture and building design.
Broughton’ Broughton was also one of 11 architectural professionals nationwide to be spotlighted during National Architecture Week, a public awareness campaign sponsored by AIA and dedicated to increase awareness of the roles that architects hold to augment positive change within communities. After moving to Texas, Broughton served from 2010-2011 as President of the Dallas Chapter of the National Organization of Minority Architects (DaNOMA), an organization dedicated to fostering communications among minority architects and fighting discriminatory practices. Broughton’s other professional leadership roles include: Chairman of the Dallas AIA Young Architects Forum (2012-2013); Texas Architect’s Career Builder’s Committee (2012-2013); 2012 Emerging Professional Roundtable in Austin, Tx; 2011 Dallas AIA Emerging Leaders Program; and 2011 Texas Architect’s Convention Planning Committee. He is also a member of the Texas Society of Architects.
