By: HEART UK HEART UK Dietician, Linda Main, said: “We are confident in our decision to support Dole Live Right snacks which are packed full of nuts which are rich in heart-healthy unsaturated fats. Replacing foods that contain large amounts of saturated fats with foods that are high in healthier unsaturated fats has been shown to help maintain normal cholesterol levels” “Dried fruit, nuts and seeds are a great alternative to crisps or sweets and are rich in fibre, vitamins and minerals so making them a better alternative to high-fat fast foods that don’t fill you up or provide great nutrition. “HEART UK is passionate about helping people with raised cholesterol, which can affect people of all ages and all shapes and sizes. The public are taking their health more seriously now and while an active lifestyle is an important element of heart health, making small changes to your diet can go a long way to helping to lower cholesterol.” Many people are unaware of the types of foods that could actually help them reduce their cholesterol levels and ultimately help them reduce their risk of a future heart attack. The Dole Live Right range is made up of natural nuts, fruits and seeds and will launch with four different products, each with at least three flavour variants. The range will be available from April in the healthy snacking aisle of Tesco.
