Laureus Launches 'Everyone Wins' Campaign

LONDON - June 2, 2021 - PRLog -- The campaign, backed by legends of the Laureus Academy Members and Laureus Ambassadors, takes inspiration from the hardships that so many young people face and aims to drive engagement and participation in Laureus projects by establishing a widespread understanding of how sport can bring positive change that transform lives.

Best known for the annual Laureus World Sports Awards, our founding patron, Nelson Mandela stated that "Sport has the power to change the world" – Laureus Sport for Good exists to bring this power to life. The EVERYONE WINS campaign features a film which shows that through sport, every day, young people can develop the skills, strength and discipline to tackle their own opponents such as violence, discrimination, poverty, inequality and disadvantage.

Sport provides safe spaces for youth who are at risk and it as an instrument for social change sport has underpinned Laureus Sport for Good since its launch in 2000, having supported more than 200 programmes in more than 40 countries and helped more than six million disadvantaged young people from all over the world to overcome daily struggles.

Former All Black captain and Chairman of the Laureus World Sports Academy, Sean Fitzpatrick, said: "EVERYONE WINS marks a turning point for Laureus, a recognition that whilst the Awards are the public face of the organisation and a hugely beneficial platform for Laureus Sport for Good, our year-round work and impact has to be seen, shared and understood more regularly.  I'm incredibly excited to see a dynamic new campaign take Laureus Sport for Good to new audiences and look forward to seeing the response."

Laureus is calling for funding and communications partners to join it in celebrating the inspirational power of sport as a force for good by supporting programmes that directly deliver sports opportunities to young people to help them address and overcome issues facing them and their communities.

The EVERYONE WINS campaign seeks to celebrate participants of this work, the community leaders, coaches, administrators and participants of Sport for Good programmes, as well as the schools, community clubs, local councils and administrations around the world whose valuable contribution to society often goes unnoticed in the world of professional sport.

Registered charity Laureus Sport for Good is the world-leader in the sport for development sector and works with a number of funding partners such as Comic Relief and Nike to support existing sports-based community programmes, working with community leaders, schools, clubs and councils to provide local people with support, advice and funding which give local groups a far greater chance of success within society.
