Two federal agents meet for the first time when they start an investigation at an exclusive boutique hotel in St. Thomas. Kevin Moore, a single and handsome U.S. Treasury agent from Washington, D.C., and Karen Doupchek, a beautiful married DEA agent from L.A., are assigned to a Joint Task Force. They are instructed to look like lovers as they check out possible drug laundering at the boutique hotel, Aubrey of St. Thomas. The hotel is managed by Aubrey Sanes, widow of ex-L.A. cop Carl Quincy “Q” Sanes, who died in a church four years ago. Q was cremated and his ashes thrown into the sea, but the agents can’t locate an autopsy report or a death certificate. The doctor who certified Q’s death in Puerto Rico has also died, leaving no records. The agents wonder if Q is alive and calling the shots or if other forces are in play. Now searching for Q dead or alive, the money trail or both, the agents go to Puerto Rico, California, Indiana and Washington, everywhere Q may have contacts sitting on cash to be laundered through the boutique hotel. During the progress of their investigation, the agents abruptly discover they have fallen hard for each other. Here’s what R.D. Moore, author of Chopper Caper, wrote about the author’s prequel After a While You Wonder: “A thought-provoking, gripping, and graphic account of service as a black police officer in Los Angeles in the late 1950s and 1960s…the reader ‘feels the street’ as officers respond to calls in impoverished and crime-ridden areas. There are touching moments as the main character develops relationships with people living in Watts that come to him for help and advice. You feel the slights and indignities endured by black officers who could not even use the shower in the station or ride in patrol cars with a white officer. The author’s use of the past-present technique keeps the reader's interest and wanting to learn more about the way it was in the pre and post years of the Watts riots.” TUESDAY AFTER NEXT: THE SECOND NOVEL IN THE TRILOGY AFTER A WHILE YOU WONDER (ISBN: 978-1-61897- WHOLESALERS: About the Author: Norman E.
