BlueSpace® Announces Cooperative R&D Agreement with Air Force Research Laboratory

3 Year Agreement will focus on Cross Domain Technologies and Solutions

AUSTIN, Texas - April 11, 2013 - PRLog -- AUSTIN, TX, April 11, 2013 – BlueSpace Federal, a provider of Multi-Level Secure (MLS) applications and pioneer of the MLS 2.0 approach, announced that the company has entered into a Cooperative Research and Development Agreement (CRADA) with the Air Force Research Laboratory—Information Directorate (AFRL/RI), Cross Domain Innovation & Science (CDIS) Engineering group, led by Michael J. Mayhew - AFRL/RIEB,  to research the integration of MLS 2.0 with key AFRL research initiatives and programs.  The goal of the CRADA is to benefit the intelligence community and the warfighter by increasing the value of AFRL and BlueSpace capabilities.

The CRADA is designed to foster the sharing of knowledge between AFRL and BlueSpace in secure cross domain research areas including cyber visualization, system management, mobile devices, tagged data, command & control, and big data. In addition, AFRL and BlueSpace will continue to work on integration of MLS 2.0 capabilities with AFRL secure cross-domain programs of record.

MLS 2.0 is an innovative approach to cross domain applications that transfers only highly constrained XML through a certified data guard to provide a unified user experience across multiple security domains and systems.  MLS 2.0 applications can take advantage of trusted workstations to further enhance the user experience.

“The MLS 2.0 approach is a compelling way to provide cross domain capabilities,” said Dr. Ryan Durante, Chief of Cross Domain Solutions & Innovation at Air Force Research Laboratory. “Combined with AFRL programs and research we expect to see new concepts, prototypes and program capabilities that will benefit the warfighter.”

“I am excited about the ways this cooperative research agreement can accelerate delivery of innovative cross domain solutions,” said Pat Motola, CEO of BlueSpace.  “AFRL cross domain solutions are powerful platforms for delivery of new cross domain capabilities to the warfighter.  By using these platforms, combined with AFRL research and MLS 2.0 I expect to see new cross domain capabilities that can go from the lab to the warfighter very rapidly.”

About BlueSpace

BlueSpace is a US small business that provides multi-level secure (MLS) applications using a breakthrough approach called “MLS 2.0” to help the US defense and intelligence communities achieve information dominance. MLS 2.0 greatly reduces the cost, time and risk traditionally associated with cross domain applications.  Users benefit from improved situational awareness, analysis, decision making, response time and collaboration. IT benefits from flexibility, strong security and broad platform support.  Certification is simplified by using certified data guards and only highly constrained XML for all cross domain data transfers.  MLS 2.0 applications such as email, calendar and search are available on a COTS basis.  Mission specific applications such as C2ISR and Cyber can be developed on a GOTS basis using the MLS 2.0 Mission Application Framework.  For more information, visit www.bluespace.com.
