Nursing Documentary Picked Up For Worldwide Distribution

MONTREAL - April 10, 2013 - PRLog -- Montreal, Canada – ID Communications Inc. announces the acquisition of world distribution rights for “NURSES If Florence Could See Us Now” a theatrical and television length documentary showcasing the untold story of the nursing profession.

“Everyone has had an experience with a nurse – someone who may have been there for them, at a critical time – When I was first presented the film, it struck me what a universal chord this documentary touches upon. “NURSES If Florence Could See Us Now” at once captures the human drama of those intimate moments, and gives us a perspective on the profession as a whole. From a market perspective, I think this is one of those specialty films with strong cross-over potential, for a very broad audience.  We are thrilled to represent it for non-US markets” says Dan Shannon, president of ID Communications.

“The documentary tells the story of close to100 nurses across America. Even though I am a nurse myself, my appreciation and respect for the work that nurses do every day was deepened through making this film. It reaffirmed the importance of telling their story. The husband of a nurse approached me after a screening of the film and said “ My wife has been a nurse for 30 years, but seeing this film, I now understood what that really means”. We are so pleased that the film will have a far reach thanks to  both our National and International distribution partners including ID Communications for International . We are just getting ready to release the US version at the end of April and are excited about getting this story out to audiences worldwide” says Kathy Douglas, the film’s director.


The film is produced by On Nursing Excellence (ONE), a 501(c) 3 not-for-profit organization founded in 2009, whose purpose is to expand the effectiveness, efficiency, well being and recognition of the healthcare workforce.
