By: My Chosen Vessels and ENKARE Water Project Leelee Curry is a makeup artist who once had to look hard for healthy and natural products for her clients. She created Solfood Natural Soaps, providing organic and vegan beauty products, in response to this need. Solfood has been distributing beauty products, and has partnered with My Chosen Vessels, in the Chicago land area for the past even years. “Making soap got me thinking about how you need clean water to be able to use it. I heard about the organization, My Chosen Vessels, at the start of Solfood. I knew right away that I wanted to help be apart of a cause like that, getting clean and usable water for the people there. Being able to donate proceeds and bars of soap is a very important part of what Solfood Natural Soaps stands for.” Leelee Curry, owner and founder of Solfood Natural Soap. 90% of the Maasai population in Kimuka (Keyna) has no access to clean water. With this alarming fact, the organization, My Chosen Vessels, has created the Sustainable Clean Water Project that significantly increases access to clean water needed for adequate nutrition/hydration and hygienic care. Solfood Natural Soaps gives 10% of the proceeds from Mother Earth Soap to this project. Solfood Natural Soaps sells five different types of soaps. As well as lotion, lip balm, deodorant, body and hair oil. Solfood Natural Soap is distributed through seven stores in three states and is also available at the Barrington Salon, with hopes of soon being in Whole Foods. End
