CAPS Seeks Nominations from Community

The Naperville Fire and Police Chiefs are seeking nominations from the community to recognize outstanding service by Police and Fire department personnel.
 
NAPERVILLE, Ill. - April 2, 2013 - PRLog -- The Naperville Fire and Police Chiefs are seeking nominations from the community to recognize outstanding service by Police and Fire department personnel. The Police Department nominees will be honored as part of the Citizens Appreciate Public Safety (CAPS) program awards dinner in May.  The Fire Department nominees will be honored in October.  

Naperville's Fire and Police Chiefs are now seeking specific examples from members of the public where Police and/or Fire Department personnel have performed exemplary acts of public service in the community.

"The men and women in our police department go above and beyond for our community every day," said Police Chief Robert Marshall. "We are asking our community to share their stories and recognize that service by nominating police officers that have served the community in extraordinary ways."

Police Department nominations can be sent to Pat Mason via e-mail (masonp@naperville.il.us), fax (630/420-4096 (tel:%28630%2F420-4096)) or mail (Attn: Pat Mason, Naperville Police Department, 1350 Aurora Avenue, Naperville 60540).  Nominations for the Police Department Awards are due by April 20.

Fire department nominations can be sent to Ruthi Sommers via e-mail (sommersr@naperville.il.us), fax (630/420-4094) or mail (Attn: Ruthi Sommers, Naperville Fire Department, 1380 Aurora Avenue, Naperville, 60540.

The family-oriented event honoring nominees will begin at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 16, at Meson Sabika and will feature police vehicles staged outside in the parking lot. Tickets are $20 per person and may be purchased at the Police Department at 1350 Aurora Avenue.

Citizens Appreciate Public Safety (CAPS) is a Naperville community group that recognizes public safety personnel for their contributions to the City. Each year, Naperville residents are asked to nominate public safety employees who have displayed an interest in Naperville’s residents in a manner above and beyond the call of duty and exhibited a genuine concern for the welfare and well being of all Naperville citizens.
