During the April 17th Industrial Control System Information Sharing & Analysis Center (ICS-ISAC) Public Briefing Dave Teumim, President of Teumim Technical, LLC will provide a high-level brief on ICS Security in Rail Transit Control & Communications.
 
ARLINGTON, Va. - March 25, 2013 - PRLog -- During the Wednesday April 17th Industrial Control System Information Sharing and Analysis Center (ICS-ISAC) Public Briefing Dave Teumim, President of Teumim Technical, LLC, will provide a briefing on "Securing Control and Communications Systems in Rail Transit Environments", from  the American Public Transportation Association (APTA) Control and Communications Security Working Group (CCSWG) Recommended Practice Series.

Mr Teumim will begin by providing a historical perspective covering past rail transit cyber incidents.  He will then walk us up the rail industry ICS security learning curve as well as provide thoughts and guidance on using DHS and NIST documents in writing best practices.  In addition to Mr Teumim Industrial Control System Information Sharing and Analysis Center (ICS-ISAC) Chair Chris Blask will provide closing comments and wrap-up with some exciting new developments at the Center.

 Dave Teumim, CISSP is an independent consultant and president of Teumim Technical, LLC in Allentown, PA. He has been involved in ICS security since 2002 and specializes in Control System Security projects.  He is facilitator for and past chair of American Public Transportation Association’s (APTA) Control and Communications Security Working Group (CCSWG) and is the author of the book "Industrial Network Security" now in its second edition.

Chris Blask has a career that spans the breadth of the industrial control system cybersecurity space.  From humble beginnings as a control system engineer he soon saw the need for and invented one of the first commercial firewall products.  Joining Cisco Systems he then led their firewall business to a position of global leadership, a legacy that continues to this day.  Recognizing the need to apply Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) technology to ICS cybersecurity he founded Lofty Perch, authored the first book on SIEM, and created AlienVault's ICS Group.

Today, Mr. Blask is actively involved with a wide range of domestic and international efforts.  He is Founder and CEO of ICS Cybersecurity, Inc.; Chair of the Industrial Control System Information Sharing and Analysis Center (ICS-ISAC); Chief Architect for NorthWind Technologies in Doha, Qatar; and is advisor to Itex Solutions in Sana’a, Yemen and to Targetproof in Atlanta, Georgia (USA).

The Industrial Control System Information Sharing and Analysis Center (ICS-ISAC) exists to bring together the private sector partners and stakeholders for the purpose of sharing knowledge about risks, threats and best practices across our shared critical infrastructure.
