Speaker Clara Chorley traveled to Location: Cotonou, Benin, Africa to speak for Van Duyse University, founded by Gregory Van Duyse from Canada in 2012.  She spoke to approximately 25 students from Benin, Ghana, Ivory Coast, and South Africa doing a 3-year course where the ultimate outcome is attendees get a business loan and start their businesses. They are in their first year.

Clara was invited to teach them on the inner game of business and spent 10 hours by land traveling from Ghana (where she was living for two months) to Benin to train them. They'd learned a great deal from many classic books (Good to Great, EMyth, etc) about entrepreneurialism. Clara chose to train them on two important things: Clarifying their Vision and Fear.

The fears that came up in that room: "Don't have the contacts" "Now isn't the right time" "Not enough experience" "Too young" "Won't be able to change my situation" "How will I get there?" are so similar to the fears we face in America. They're 'human' fears. For these students, understanding that their fear wasn't the truth was a life-changer. Clara says of what she gained from this experience, “An inspiring lesson in how we're all the same inside, just facing different external challenges.”
