CORPUS CHRISTI  – On Thursday, March 14, 2013, Adams® Extract & Spice will be presenting the American Diabetes Association – Corpus Christi Chapter with a $1,250 charitable donation.

Adams® Extract & Spice has committed $15,000 to the American Diabetes Association. To help raise awareness, each month, a check for $1,250.00 will be presented to a different American Diabetes Association Chapter in the State of Texas.

Recent studies are showing the average American is consuming more than the daily recommended amounts of calories, salts, and sugars, most of these coming from fast, processed and prepared foods, and a leading contributor to health related diseases. Adams® believes going home to cook fresh foods, properly prepared and seasoned, is half the battle in the fight to control and eliminate these diseases such as diabetes.

People in South Texas are increasingly feeling the effects of diabetes as approximately 86,000 people in the Coastal Bend battle diabetes. It is estimated that one in three Americans will have diabetes by the year 2050, if current trends continue. The Corpus Christi chapter is dedicated to ensuring these statistics do not become a reality by raising funds for research, programing, and advocacy, and is committed to educating the public about how to stop diabetes and support those living with the disease.
