Iconic vocalist John Wetton joins progressive band District 97 for 4 special performances in May
John Wetton (Asia, UK, King Crimson) has continually supported young rising talents , Now he records and performs with rising talents District 97 which features popular American Idol female finalist Leslie Hunt.
This year, despite a busy schedule with solo commitments, School of Rock Professorship, Asia and UK, and the recording of a highly anticipated new album with the members of Asia, iconic songwriter and vocalist John Wetton is making the time to appear with District 97.
He shines as a guest on the new track “The Perfect Young Man” and will also perform a selection of his iconic hits from King Crimson. This is a special treat for fans, who haven’t heard most of these songs performed live since the 70s.
John says, “I welcome every opportunity to encourage the musical icons of tomorrow. Performing with this band is a privilege and a joy. I am looking forward to the shows with great anticipation.”
District 97 is undoubtedly the most musically adventurous rock band and features American Idol Top 10 Finalist Leslie Hunt. With her fantastic voice, and looks to match, singer Leslie Hunt has captured the imagination of rock fans everywhere. She and District 97 now come to Europe for the first time touring behind their second opus, Trouble With Machines.
Complexity is one of the hallmarks of District 97's compositions, but melody is not sacrificed in the process. Their new album is laced with catchy vocal tunes such as "The Perfect Young Man", which features a guest vocal appearance by legendary Progressive Rock icon, John Wetton.
John will join District 97 to perform this song in concert, along with a selection of his work from King Crimson, much of it not performed live since the 70s.
This is truly a unique opportunity to hear the very best of Progressive Rock: past, present and future.
