Stamping fees are compulsory fees required to be paid in cash by travelers using visa on arrival to Vietnam at Vietnam international airports. The fees are collected directly at the check-in counter by Immigration officers where travelers provide necessary documents to have visa stamped onto their passports.

Stamping fees are the fees for visa stamps and different from the service fees one pays for the processing of a visa approval letter when applying for visa on arrival. When using visa on arrival method to enter Vietnam, the cost of Vietnam visa (http://www.vietnam-visa.com/pricing.html) always consists of these two kinds of fees: service fees for visa approval letters and stamping fees for visa stamps.

According to official notice from Vietnam Immigration Office, the new stamping fees come into effect from January, 2013 are as below:
     • 45 USD for 1 month or 3 month single entry visa
     • 65 USD for 1 month multiple entry visa (less than 30 days)
     • 95 USD for 3 month multiple entry visa

Those who use visa on arrival are also advised to prepare necessary documents beforehand to save time at the check-in counter. Document package to present to Immigration Officers in Vietnam includes:
       • Original passport
       • Printed visa approval letter
       • The entry and exit form (filled in before)
       • Two passport-sized photos
       • Stamping fee in cash

Travelers can pay their stamping fees either in USD or VND. Other currencies might be acceptable, however, paying in USD is recommended to avoid mix-up in exchange rates and such.
