Jan. 24, 2013 - PRLog -- Garry Whitfield, Senior Chemist of BP Australia has been confirmed to speak at the Diesel Emissions in Mines workshops taking place in Sydney, 26 February and in Dubbo, 28 February.
These free, one day workshops will aim to improve the potential risk of health problems to mine workers from diesel engine exhaust by providing information and guidance for establishing control strategies and by providing a forum where industry can ask questions of a panel of experts.

Garry recently said of the workshops “I am looking forward to presenting an overview on the relationship between engines, fuels and emissions that will enable operators to understand what they can do to reduce emissions.”

The workshops will highlight the importance of a unified approach between mine management, health, ventilation and maintenance departments in formulating mine control strategies for diesel emissions management. There will be other presenters from engine manufacturers, filter manufacturers, mine ventilation, maintenance, and health and safety departments.

The workshop should be attended by stakeholders who deal with diesel engines in underground mines.
