Freezing Weather Maryland - Frozen & broken pipes cause flood damage

Jan. 23, 2013 - PRLog -- Maryland is experiencing and extremely cold snap with some of the lowest temperatures in years due to chilling winds on top of plummeting temperatures.  Quite possibly, this could be the coldest stretch in the last 10 years for residents of Maryland.

         Water Damage Guys of Maryland is issuing this press release to warn and inform Maryland residents and business owners about the very real threat of flood damage to their homes and business.  With the sub-freezing temperatures afflicting the area comes the possibility of broken pipes that result from water that freezes and expands within the pipes.  Once the ice thaws out and water resumes running through your pipes, the broken areas of pipe begin to leak and cause water damage.

         What can you do to prevent Washington DC broken pipes and flooding in your home?  Make sure you DO NOT TURN OF YOUR HEATING.  If you do so, your plumbing has a drastically greater chance of freezing which leads to flood damage.  In fact, it is recommended to keep a close eye on your thermostat and make sure your air temperature stays above 60 degrees.
