Session on Crowdfunding at 1/12/13 B2B Camp DC

Jan. 23, 2013 - PRLog -- On  January 12, 2013, William Michael Cunningham was selected to give a talk on Crowdfunding at B2B Camp. According to the organizers, "B2BCamp is a user organized gathering focused on B2B Sales and Marketing topics. B2BCamp is one of many 'unconferences' held throughout the world. Although similar to traditional industry conferences, at B2BCamp there are no 'attendees' because everyone participates in some manner. Some participants will present while others will lead a roundtable discussion...B2BCamp is a self-organizing collaborative event that is rewarding, fun and a totally cool experience!

Rather than having pre-scheduled speakers, anyone who is interested in leading a session can submit a proposal. Proposed sessions will be voted on by the B2BCamp participants with the most popular sessions getting on the event schedule."

Crowdfunding, getting investments and donations from individuals via the internet, has taken off, giving individuals who have, until now, been shut out of funding markets access to much needed cash.

In keeping with the unique nature of the conference, Mr. Cunningham's talk was participatory and interactive. Attendees outlined their specific questions. Mr. Cunningham provided guidance and current, up-to-date information about recent crowdfunding activity.

In addition to reviewing current practices, Mr. Cunningham discussed the current state of SEC rulemaking, so critical to the prospects for crowdfunding. Participants reviewed and discussed his recent Washington Post article (http://www.washingtonpost.com/business/capitalbusiness/co...) calling on the SEC to carefully, but deliberately, speed up the crowdfunding rulemaking process.
