By: Certified Hypnotist James Malone Jan. 2, 2013 - PRLog -- Point Pleasant, New Jersey -- The Jersey Shore Hypnosis Cooperative (JSHC) has announced it will be having a fundraising event on Monday, January 21, to benefit the Hometown Heroes organization, which is providing direct relief to local victims of Hurricane Sandy. Shore area residents will have the opportunity to experience a private hypnosis session while helping their community.
Seven members with offices from as far north as Red Bank and south as Beachwood will offer introductory hypnosis sessions on Monday, January 21, in exchange for donations to the Hometown Heroes organization. The minimum suggested donation is $50 and the sessions can be used to address stress, habit control issues such as quitting smoking and healthy weight loss, along with other “everyday problems of everyday life.” “The JSHC is a group of local hypnosis practitioners that provide self-help services to area residents,” explain co-organizers Rhoda Kopy of Toms River and James Malone of Point Pleasant Beach. “As people who are in a profession that assists others, it’s only natural that we would want to give back to the communities that we serve. We have seen many lives in our area turned upside down by Hurricane Sandy." “Unlike what people may have seen in the movies or stage shows” says Kopy, “hypnosis for self-improvement is a relaxed, focused state of concentration that empowers people to make positive changes in their lives." Malone adds, "the services of a certified hypnosis professional are meant to complement rather than replace standard medical or psychological care. Hypnosis is a wonderful stress reliever and can encourage people to engage in healthier behaviors and responses in their lives." Certified hypnosis professionals often belong to organizations such as the National Guild of Hypnotists, which sets training standards for its members as well as a strict code of professional ethics that they are expected to follow.
