CarsINC Celebrates 5 years of helping single moms with the "gift of a lift"

Since 2007, CarsINC (Cars In the Name of Christ) has given away 24 cars and one van to help single moms by giving them the gift of a free car. This "gift of a lift" allows these mothers to finally have transportation to get them to their job.

Dec. 27, 2012 - PRLog -- CarsINC is a mission of St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Lansing, Michigan.  In the last give years, CarsINC has given "the gift of a lift" to 24 folks who need a car to get to work, mostly single moms.  In addition, CarsINC gave away a van to the Life Transformation Program at the Women's and Children's shelter.

CarsINC is hoping to raise $3,000 before the end of the year to help two more single moms by giving them "the gift of a lift"--the gift of a new car--to help them get to and from their jobs.

The ministry of CarsINC began in 2007 when St. Paul's members Tom and Martie Repaskey gave away their Pontiac van to a single mom and friend who needed transportation to get to her job.  They realized then that there were probably other single moms who needed a car to help them support their family. Now, a team works with Tom to identify cars and collect donations to rehab gently used cars and find moms who need them.

If you want to help give "the gift of a lift", please send your check to St. Paul's Episcopal Church (for CarsINC) 218 West Ottawa Street  Lansing, MI 48933.
