Champagne for New Year's Eve with 'Plaid Tidings' at Herb Strauss Theater Sanibel

Dec. 27, 2012 - PRLog -- BIG ARTS Herb Strauss Theater, the only professional theater on Sanibel, delivers a musical gift for the holiday season. Forever Plaid: Plaid Tidings finds our favorite all-male vocal group, the Plaids, returned to Earth from Heaven to deliver some much needed holiday cheer. The boys’ Christmas Special is packed with all your holiday favorites, including Let It Snow, I’ll Be Home for Christmas,Carol of the Bells, The Dreidel Song and Mele Kalikimaka plus hits Sha-Boom, Mambo Italiano, Fever and many more.

"... a night of merriment that’s sure to get you into the holiday mood. And it’s not all Yuletide tunes, either. The first act features ‘50s songs such as Fever,  Mambo Italiano and the lush Sh-Boom. Director/choreographer Michael Stanek and music director Tammy Holder have assembled four gifted comedic actors whose voices blend hypnotically in barbershop harmony. Honestly, I could listen to them sing all night long."

Performances are 8 p.m. December 26 – 29. There is a 4 p.m. matinée December 30. Tickets are $42 for adults and $20 for children.

There will be a special New Year’s Eve performance Monday, December 31, which will include a champagne reception, with appetizers during intermission and dessert. Sing in 2013 with the cast!
Tickets are $75 for adults and $20 for children. Show begins at 9 p.m.

This production stars Michael Lo Balsamo, Robby May, John Ramsey, and Matthew Schmidt as The Plaids with Music Director Tammy Holder, and Show Director Michael Stanek. The show opens as the Plaids find themselves surprised to be back on Earth. But as the celestial guardians of harmony, they know they must have been sent for a special reason and mission: to bring selfless love back to the world through song!
