Community Joins Forces for Vaughn Anthony Holiday Bash

Dec. 12, 2012 - PRLog -- New York, NY —When a Gallup poll named Springfield, Ohio the saddest city in the country, local R&B singer Vaughn Anthony, heard a call to action. Anthony’s Holiday Bash, to be held on Dec. 22, from 7:00-9:00 p.m. in the Springfield High School cafetorium is the result- bringing together local talent with award winning artists.

The show will feature a variety of performers including bands, dancers, church choirs, Springfield High School Choir, spoken word, praise dancers, and special guests Vaughn Anthony and John Legend. Many of the acts originated from community favorite, Springfield's Got Talent at the Upper Valley Mall.  

“This community has fostered so much talent- there is such a spirit of support, I knew that needed to be recognized,” explains Anthony, brother of Grammy award winning artist John Legend.

The 2,200 tickets on sale, priced at just $20 a piece, are now on sale today at three locations: The Springfield High office from 10:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m., center court at the Upper Valley Mall from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. and the Springfield Family YMCA from 5:30 a.m. to 10 p.m.

“In the past, tickets for events like this have gone like hot cakes,” explains Anthony. “We are keeping prices low, in a larger venue than previous events we’ve done, to get as many people in the door, to enjoy the event.”

Proceeds will benefit the local YMCA’s goal to replace the roof above its youth department and to creating football and basketball camps for the city’s youth.

Vaughn Anthony’s Holiday Bash is presented by One Community Network and Urban Light Ministries. Attendees are also asked to bring canned goods to go to the Second Harvest Food Drive.
