Idea Rebel and Quiksilver for "Eddie Would Go"
Idea Rebel Partners with Quiksilver to remember Eddie Aikau and promote the annual "Eddie" honouring the lost surfing legend.
“Eddie Would Go” is a contest that allows users to remember Eddie by nominating their own personal heroes. Users can nominate someone that embodies the spirit of Eddie Aikau by entering a short story describing why the person is heroic. The stories are posted to the website where users can vote for their favourites. Users can also share the site on their social media sites, such as Facebook, Twitter and Youtube and stay connected through email notifications. The experience also includes an Instagram contest where users snap photos with the hashtag #EddieWouldGo, this site is compatible with all mobile devices. Once entered, users are eligible to win a weekly prize pack. For each nomination and photo received, the Quiksilver Foundation will donate $1 to the Kokua Hawai’i Foundation.
Idea Rebel got involved to design the Custom CMS site that allows users to nominate, vote and share. Information on Eddie Aikau and his legacy are available for users to learn more about this courageous man.
