By: The PR Group Specifically, funds raised will support Horses4Heroes' Operation Free Ride, free programs that are provided to veterans, victims of domestic abuse and violence, foster children and at-risk youth, and others in the community who need a little "horse power" in their lives. Programs like Back in the Saddle, Stay Strong and Ride to Win use horses as teaching partners to boost self-esteem and self-confidence and provide positive interactions and interventions. Since the launch of Operation Free Ride on May 19, more than 2,700 have registered for their "free ride" via www.operationfreeride.com. Horses4Heroes' Operation Free Ride is the largest collaboration of equestrian organizations and breed associations, uniting in support of the nation's troops, returning combat veterans and families. To date, there are more than 200 facilities in 43 states plus Canada. The organization's estimates the cost of one session per family at $50. Founded in 2006 and based in Las Vegas, Horses4Heroes, Inc. is a non-profit organization that is making horseback riding affordable for and accessible to, the heroes and their families in communities from coast to coast. Through a growing national network of kid-friendly, family friendly facilities, the organization provides able-bodied and therapeutic horseback riding programs that emphasize fun and safe activities with horses, mounted and un-mounted for all ages.
