Minnesota Recruiting and Staffing Association wins 3 national awards

In October, Doherty Vice President Gauher Mohammad accepted three awards from The American Staffing Association on behalf of the Minnesota Recruiting and Staffing Association.

MNRSA was honored at Staffing World® 2012, the annual convention and expo of the American Staffing Association. The Minnesota organization  received the ASA Care Award for corporate social responsibility, a Chapter Superior Merit Award for its outstanding programs and chapter efforts, and a Legislative Merit Award for its outstanding legislative efforts during 2011.

Mr. Mohammad accepted the Chapter Superior Merit  and the Legislative Merit awards from ASA chairman, Aaron Green, CSP, at an awards ceremony during the convention held on October 9. The ASA Care Award was presented to him by Linda Carchidi, CEO JFC Staffing Associates, and  Richard Wahlquist, President and CEO American Association on October 11, also during the convention.
Mr. Mohammad said, “It was a great honor to accept these awards on behalf of MNRSA. It has been a privilege to lead this organization for the past two years and I’m gratified that the hard work and ingenuity of our volunteers, committee members, and board was recognized by ASA. Staffing companies puts thousands of people to work every day; at MNRSA we’re proud to promote and represent this important industry in Minnesota.”

Awards based on outstanding community initiative, social responsibility, and industry service
According to ASA, state chapters that receive the Chapter Superior Merit Award are evaluated “on their support of the staffing industry through chapter meetings, special events, educational seminars, government relations activities, and community outreach efforts.”

The Legislative Merit Award recognizes associations taking “positive and effective steps to make sure legislators understand how the staffing industry benefits the economy. These steps included face-to-face meetings, testimony at legislative hearings, letter-writing campaigns, state capitol hill days, and other political activities.”

The ASA Care Award honors “corporate social responsibility initiatives that involve employee training and professional development, community engagement, ‘green’ business practices, philanthropy, and more.” MNRSA was chosen by a panel of corporate social responsibility experts.
