Smart Tweezers Calibration Facility Opening in Poland by the End of 2012

Dec. 3, 2012 - PRLog -- Smart Tweezers LCR meter has been on the market for almost 9 years, earning itself a reputation as a high-quality, professional grade tool. used around the world by many major high tech companies, but even with the global popularity, calibration is only offered in North America and India. This is a hindrance for many companies that require annual calibration and/or verification of calibration of their equipment in order to be ISO compliant.

An option of a third party calibration in which the device isn't truly calibrated with adjustments of calibration coefficients, but with verification of the measurement accuracy by comparison of measurement results to the actual values of a high-precision components. Although this is a viable option, it does not guarantee that the Smart Tweezers LCR-meter is working optimally.

"In order to calibrate Smart Tweezers LCR-meter you need to have the calibration Fixture designed particularly for Smart Tweezers' calibration and adjustment of the calibration coefficients." explains the Director of Siborg Systems, Michael Obrecht. "This calibration fixture itself needs to be calibrated annually to ensure the highest possible precision."

The Smart Tweezers Calibration Fixture is a semi-automatic device that updates the calibration coefficients stored in EEPROM of every Smart Tweezers unit. The update is based on comparing the results of measurements obtained using Smart Tweezers with values of a few high-accuracy components called "the standard components". The calibration coefficients are eventually adjusted by finding the best fit to the valuse of the standard components ensuring optimal performance of Smart Tweezers.

There are only currently three calibration facilities worldwide; in Waterloo, Ontario, canada, Pasadena, California and New Delhi, India. Companies in Europe have to send their devices to North America or India for calibration or use other verification methods. Shipping to Canada, handling customs, etc, makes the process long and costly.

Bokar International, in the USA, and Siborg Systems Inc. in Canada have teamed-up to establish a facility in Poland at Production Solutions, which for years has serviced Bokar's SMT and ESD products.
