Follow on Google News | Learning Source Hires Joshua Evans as Executive DirectorThe Learning Source for Adults and Families has hired Joshua Evans as its new executive director.
By: The Learning Source Established in 1964, The Learning Source (www.coloradoliteracy.org) Evans has more than 12 years of diverse adult educational experience as an instructor, trainer and administrator in ESL (English as a Second Language), GED (General Educational Development) A certified adult education instructor by the Colorado Department of Education and Learning to Achieve Trainer, Evans has a Master’s degree in Environmental Leadership from Naropa University in Boulder, where he also served as adjunct faculty. Evans also holds Bachelors of Arts degrees in English and Criminal Justice from the University of North Carolina-Wilmington, and spent three years as the Education Coordinator for the Jefferson County Probation Education Program. “Josh has the commitment to adult education and the demonstrated leadership skills that make him a natural choice for this position,” says James E. Spoja, Board President of The Learning Source. “Demand for adult education is increasing, and we are very fortunate to have him join our organization.” Evans and his family are Jefferson County residents. He is a marathon runner, member of the Association for the Study of Literature and the Environment, and a Board member of the Literacy Coalition of Colorado. Winter semester classes at The Learning Source begin in January.
