VIGYANIT 2012 first of its kind in Kolkata

Nov. 24, 2012 - PRLog -- On 23rd November 2012, The Heritage School Kolkata organized Maths and Science Quiz VIGYANIT 2012 for the junior section students which was participated by 25 leading schools across Kolkata where the prominent ones were South Point School, Future Foundation School, Ashoka Hall Girls School, DPS Megacity, Apeejay School Park Street as well as Saltlake, Akshar, DPS Ruby Park, DPS New Town, La Martinere school for girls, Don Bosco, Modern High School and many more. The programme was graced by Ms. Jane Thompson, wife of USA Consul General, Mr. Dean Thompson, as the Chief Guest.

Excitement flourished among the students during the inauguration of the programme which was attended by Ms Seema Sapru, Principal of The Heritage School, Ms. Meenakshi Atal, Vice-Principal, The Heritage School, Chief Guest Ms Jane Thompson and other dignitaries including the staff members and the teachers. “VIGYANIT 2012 is a unique event among the students where they can strengthen their knowledge in Science and Maths. Apart from this, they are really enjoying the event taking it a challenge,” said Ms Meenakshi Atal, Vice-Principal, The Heritage School. The programme was divided into various rounds which included random questions, practical demonstrations, science coaster and various other mind-boggling questions.

At the end, South Point School bagged the first prize in the competition followed by The Heritage School as the first runner-up and Future Foundation School as the second runner-up. “Such event is really a fun for the students and also a great source of knowledge. There are things which are very hard to achieve towards success but for that help is required and it is not at all impossible”, said Ms. Jane Thompson motivating the students to be successful in life. The event was also attended by the Trustee members of the Heritage School, Shri Pradip Agarwal, CEO and Shri Probir Roy, Executive Director Heritage Group of Institutions along with other teachers and staff of the Heritage School.
