By: 399th Danbury Composite Squadron, Public Affairs Under the command of Major Jim Vigar and Cadet Commander Second Lieutenant Elizabeth Bell, 399th Squadron members devoted 5 days and over 200 man-hours helping the American Red Cross Connecticut Chapter and the Town of New Fairfield set up shelters and distribute supplies. “I’m very thankful we have such a dedicated group of individuals in this squadron who are ready to assist our communities in time of need,” said Squadron Commander Major Jim Vigar. Squadron members moved cots into Danbury Hospital to accommodate additional emergency personnel and assisted with shelter set-up at the Danbury War Memorial and New Fairfield High School. Volunteers filled supply orders, unloaded trucks, distributed food, water, blankets and other supplies at the shelters. “We are grateful for the support of the Civil Air Patrol.
