Next generation GSM / GPRS Modem Kit launched by ACTE

Nov. 7, 2012 - PRLog -- Designed for first time implementers and small scale deployments, the BGS2T GSM/GPRS modem kit offers a simple and reliable plug and play communication kit, including BGS2T data modem, U.K mains power supply, RS232 data cable and high gain aerial. The kit only requires a data enabled SIM card to quickly connect applications using wireless technology with low integration and approval efforts.

Sharing the footprint of a credit card, the slim BGS2T terminal fits in almost every GSM/GPRS application ensuring suitability for the requirements of the growing wireless M2M and telemetry market operating on the 850, 900, 1800 and 1900MHz cellular networks. To ensure a simple, reliable and efficient integration to the compact design, the modem incorporates a flexible mounting configuration enabling users to mount the modem via DIN or C rail, screw fixing or via cable ties if desk mounting is not preferable.

The BGS2T terminal is equipped with Cinterion’s class leading BGS2 GSM/GPRS wireless engine, based on the latest generation Intel cellular chipset. Offering best in class power efficiency to extend operation time if used in a battery powered configuration, BGS2T is fitted with an RS232 9 way D type connector as standard, ensuring suitability for general purpose wireless M2M and telemetry applications. An RS485 variant is also available on request for use in automatic meter reading (AMR) applications.

BGS2T has the necessary regulatory and local approvals along with network operator certifications, ensuring it can be used globally.

The kit is supplied with BGS2T modem, U.K mains power supply, 1 metre RS232 data cable and high gain, quad band GSM/GPRS aerial along with full set up documentation.
