Local Restaurant Celebrates 60 years of Business by Thanking Their Customers

Oct. 31, 2012 - PRLog -- Beechie's was founded in 1952 by Frank “Beechie” Bonazza and his wife Sophie. Beechie was an avid member of the community and he began the community involvement Beechie’s Place would become known for. In 1974, Beechie’s was sold to Charles “Chuck” Phillips, a classically trained Chef and veteran. Throughout his 36 years of ownership he extended his generosity to many non-profit organizations, local athletic leagues, and local churches. On November 5, 2010 Beechie's was sold to the current owners, the McFarlands. In the two years the McFarlands have owned Beechie’s they have brought the restaurant back to life. They began with updating the menu with new and improved items while retaining the same historical favorites, and they slowly began to update the atmosphere. The McFarlands sought to keep the same great atmosphere by maintaining the tradition of a Family Restaurant that had a reputation of giving back to their community. Continuing Beechie Bonazza and Chuck Phillips’ tradition of assisting the community, the Beechie’s Family continues to donate their time and money to local charities and non-profit organizations. Every year the restaurant hosts month long events like Pink Out! for Breast Cancer Awareness, Pediatric Hydrocephalus Month, Muscular Dystrophy Month, and Multiple Sclerosis Month to help these charities raise money for research to help save lives. In addition to month long events, Beechie’s donates their time or money to the Fraternal Order of Police, American Cancer Society, Washington Area Humane Society, Lupus Foundation, local churches, local organizations and sports teams. The McFarlands and the Beechie’s Family know what it takes to keep a community strong and each day strive to go above and beyond expectations. They continue their philanthropy with local schools, as one of the most important aspects of the community is education. Beechie’s is a consistent sponsor of local school sports teams, music programs, theatre and dance programs, and the local teachers. Beginning in 2013, the Beechie’s Family will be donating their time to the Chartiers-Houston music and musical theatre program to assist in the development of the students’ musical ability and involvement.

This charity work and outreach is greatly influenced by the customers that frequent Beechies. To show their gratitude for their customer’s continuous support over the last 60 years, Beechie’s will be starting their Customer Appreciation Program in November, which rewards regular customers and local businesses with a free meal. They will also continue to renovate which will enhance the comfort and home-like feel Beechie’s has always been known for. The Beechie’s Family wants to say thank you again for being a part of their family for so many years.
