The closing date is Friday October 26th and the nominations will be assessed by a panel.

Cllr Nick Bradley, Swansea Council's Cabinet Member for Regeneration, said: "The last 12 months has been terrific for sport in Swansea when people have had many opportunities to cheer on local heroes on the top of their game in both national and international competitions.
"But this awards scheme isn't just about our high-profile sports stars. It gives a chance to recognise people at a grass-roots level whose contributions behind the scenes are so important in making sure clubs across the city keep ticking over. Such people could be mums who clean kits every week, tea ladies who serve drinks or coaches who improve the skills of hundreds of children every season.
"This is why the awards scheme is so special. It recognises people of all ages and levels who contribute to sport in Swansea."

The final list will be announced during the Active Swansea Sports Awards  that's being held at the start of December in the Brangwyn Hall.

Swansea City’s Alan Curtis said: “The Active Swansea sports awards evening is a great opportunity for the people of Swansea to celebrate the success of the wide range of sports that happen in the city throughout the year. Its great that our recent success at Swansea City has been recognised, but the awards profile not only the senior and professional sports people, but also community clubs, schools, juniors and those behind the scenes in coaching and leadership roles. I would encourage anyone with links to a club or individual that has had success in the last year to send in a nomination.”

If you know of anyone that deserves recognition you can nominate them for an award by visiting www.swansea.gov.uk/sportsawards or by contacting the Development and Outreach Team on 01792 635452.
