Broad and Cassel Partner Pohl Inducted into American Academy of Appellate Lawyers

Oct. 17, 2012 - PRLog -- Beverly Pohl, a partner in the Fort Lauderdale office of the statewide law firm Broad and Cassel has been inducted into the prestigious American Academy of Appellate Lawyers, a national organization comprised of outstanding appellate lawyers.   Chair of the Firm’s Appellate Law Practice Group, Pohl was one of only nine lawyers in the nation elected into the Academy, which limits its by-invitation-only membership to 500.

“Academy membership is open only to a person who possesses a reputation for recognized distinction as an appellate lawyer,” stated Wendy C. Lascher, president of the Academy, who added that nominees must have focused substantially on appeals for a minimum of 15 years.  Founded in 1990, the Academy’s mission is to promote the improvement of appellate advocacy and the administration of the appellate courts.

Board Certified in Appellate Practice, Pohl has been practicing since 1991 and handles a wide variety of civil and criminal appellate cases involving commercial litigation, constitutional law and civil rights issues and is listed in Best Lawyers in America.  She earned a Juris Doctorate from Nova Southeastern University Shepard Broad Law Center and a bachelor’s degree from William Woods College in Fulton, Missouri.  She is a member of the Florida Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers and the American Bar Association Council of Appellate Lawyers.
